John Storrie Baxter, Royal Airforce

John Storrie Baxter was born in Prestonpans, Scotland on October 18, 1925. He was married to Helen Nellie Hogg, and they had one daughter, Pearl.

John served in the Royal Airforce (RAF) of Britain following the Second World War and was stationed in Germany until 1956. In the 1950s, the RAF had a significant presence in Germany as part of the Second Tactical Air Force (2TAF), which was established after World War II to support British ground forces during the Cold War. Its focus shifted from fighting in the Second World War to defending Western Europe against a potential Soviet attack. 

The family immigrated to Canada in 1956. They were living at 18 Clover Court in Paris while John enjoyed a successful career with his Paris business, Baxter Real Estate, until 1990. John was also an avid golfer with a longtime membership at the Paris Golf Club.

John died on May 21, 2001 at Parklane Terrace. He was remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
