• Official & Third-Party Records: Even military attestations, service files, newspaper clippings, and census data can contain clerical errors, transcription mistakes, or conflicting details recorded by third parties decades ago.
• Intentional Discrepancies: During both World Wars, enlistees frequently altered key details - such as their birthdates - to meet age requirements, creating inherent conflicts between official military records and legal civil documentation.

Because of these factors, you may occasionally find conflicting dates, spellings, or timelines across historical sources.

Presentation and Sourcing

To make these biographies engaging and accessible to the broader community, our published articles are written as narrative profiles rather than formal academic papers, and detailed source bibliographies are not presented inline. While our team maintains and continually refines internal research files and source records behind the scenes, we acknowledge that early research documentation varies in detail.
